Leesburg, VA -- "On Tuesday, March 15, the Democratic-majority Board of Supervisors put partisan politics ahead of the people. By railroading through a deeply flawed Redistricting plan on a 5-4 vote, the Board sent a clear message to thousands of residents who will be divided by their "LCDC/Miller 5" plan. Because divided communities made for better partisan districts, the Board summarily dismissed resident input.
"Despite the very different interests of rural areas and suburban areas, the Board's map gives the appearance of gerrymandering as it needlessly lumps these unlike communities together ignoring the numerous pleas from many residents of these communities.
"During the campaign to come, the Loudoun County Republican Committee and our nominees will be presenting a vastly different view of how local government should work--by the people, for the people, of the people."
