Boys don’t belong in girls’ sports.

Girls deserve equal opportunity to compete and win!

When boys can compete in girls’ sports, girls are deprived of an equal opportunity for success, and this uneven playing field leads to girls struggling to compete effectively. There are also safety concerns in contact sports leading to girls’ increased risk of injury.

In February 2024, the Democrat-controlled Virginia Senate Committees on Education and Health and House Committee on Education killed legislation that would have protected girls’ sports from biological males (SB 68, SB 723, and HB 1120). Loudoun County Delegate Atoosa Reaser (D-District 27) voted against protecting girls.

What About in Loudoun County?

Our girls are being forced to share facilities with and compete against boys.

Loudoun County Public Schools Policy 8040 states:

“interscholastic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities are part of the educational program and are subject to school supervision and regulation. All students are expected to display good sportsmanship in competitive activities, whether they are participants or spectators, and they shall conduct themselves in a manner demonstrating respect for persons and property. LCPS staff shall allow gender-expansive and transgender students to participate in such activities in a manner consistent with the student’s gender identity.”

And it also states: “All students are entitled to have access to restrooms and locker rooms that are sanitary, safe, and adequate, so that they can comfortably and fully engage in their school programs and activities. Students should be allowed to use the facility that corresponds to their consistently asserted gender identity.”

What is Title IX?

Title IX (Title 9) was enacted in 1972 to ensure that no one is discriminated against on the basis of sex in any educational system that receives federal funding – your tax dollars. It is known for creating opportunities for girls in sports, and was intended to protect girls and women from sexual harassment in schools.

Those protections are in danger from Joe Biden and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona who have expanded Title IX to include gender identity, allowing boys who claim to be girls to use the restroom or changing facilities that your daughters use – which has happened here in Loudoun County – and to compete against her in sports, despite being bigger, faster, and stronger.
