Drug Overdoses Hidden from Parents

Democrats keep parents in the dark about overdoses.

Parents have a right to prompt notification on drug overdoses at the school their child attends.

Among 15 to 18-year-olds, deaths from fentanyl nearly doubled from 2021 to 2022, with 13 overdose cases in Loudoun County public schools alone.

Why do Democrats block Republican efforts to promptly notify parents about drug overdoses in our schools?

In 2024, every House Democrat, including Loudoun County Srinivasan (D-26), Reaser (D-27), Reid (D-28), and Martinez (D-29), voted against requiring schools to notify parents within 24 hours of student overdoses. We have a crisis with fentanyl and other related drugs in Loudoun County. Democrats blocked a commonsense bill that respects the role of parents and protects our kids.
