RAM VENKATACHALAM WINS REPUBLICAN PRIMARY FOR VIRGINIA HOUSE OF DELEGATES DISTRICT 26
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VIRGINIA, NOV 18, 2024 – On Monday, November 18, Ram Venkatachalam won a close election for the Republican nomination for House of Delegates District 26. The election took place at a Republican Mass Meeting of the 26th District called by Chairman of the Loudoun County Republican Committee, Scott Pio. Also competing for the nomination was Ommair Butt, resident of Ashburn.
Ram and his wife are 15-year residents of Brambleton with two children in public elementary school.
A former candidate for Loudoun County Board of Supervisors and chair of the county’s Transit Advisory Board, Ram brings a deep understanding of local issues. His focus will be on lowering taxes, increasing economic opportunity, public safety, and quality public education for every child.
Ram believes the General Assembly in Richmond needs new leadership that focuses on commonsense solutions for Virginians and not divisive social issues.
The Special Election for House District 26 will be held on Tue, January 7, the same day as the Special Election for Senate District 32. Early voting starts on Wed, December 11, 8:30-5pm, Mon-Fri at 750 Miller Dr, Suite 150, Leesburg. Saturday voting will be on December 28 and January 4, 9-5pm, at Claude Moore and Dulles South Recreation Centers. January 7, Election Day voting will be at local precincts.
