Suhas Subramanyam Votes Against Parental Access To Their Own Child’s Medical Records

From Red Virginia News.

It was former Virginia governor, Terry McAuliffe, during his gubernatorial debate against Glenn Youngkin, who blurted out, “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.”  This brought to light the truth that Democrats don’t recognize what the U.S. Supreme Court has affirmed; parents’ have a fundamental right to direct their children’s education and upbringing.

In 2023, the Republicans in our General Assembly introduced House Bill 1507, the “Fundamental Right of Parents’ Bill.”  This bill stated that parents shall be given “timely access to [their child’s] personal, academic, discipline, and health care records.”  It was overwhelmingly opposed by Democrats including Suhas Subramanyam.

Why would such a bill be necessary?  Ask the parents of Nicole Eisel who were never informed by school counselors that their 13-year-old daughter repeatedly expressed thoughts at school of killing herself.  They found this out only after their daughter committed suicide.

Then there is Jessica Konen who is suing Spreckels Union School District in California for secretly encouraging her 6th grader to believe she was transgender and providing her with a “Gender Support Plan” which included how to keep her breasts from developing.

In Virginia, Sage Blair, a student at Appomattox County High School, became a sex-trafficking victim after her school hid her gender dysphoria from her mother.

During the 2023 General Assembly session, local Republican Delegate Dave LaRock introduced House Bill 2432 which would have required parents to be notified when their child experiences gender incongruence and required that at least one parent be informed of any gender support or transitioning counseling at school. Suhas Subramanyam also voted against this bill

These are basic truths:
– The family is the building block of our society.
– Parents have a unique and special role in the education of their children.
– Parents have a fundamental right to be informed of the health issues and the counseling being provided to their minor child while at school.

Subramanyam doesn’t believe that last truth.

Subramanyam believes politicians and bureaucrats can make health decisions for minor children without their parent’s knowledge.

Subramanyam is a radical.

Do not vote for him to represent you in the U.S. Congress.
