Youngkin rules out Senate bid but leaves door open to presidential run

Gov. In an interview on Tuesday, Glenn Youngkin has ruled out running to become the next U.S. Senator from Virginia. However, he left open the possibility of a future Presidential run.

He shared his plans for the future as he assesses his career. In an interview with ABC13, a local Virginia outlet, he made these comments.

Many people have asked me if I am going to run for Senate. ‘” Youngkin said. “I’m not running for Senate but I am looking forward to taking my spouse on a nice, long vacation.”

Youngkin did not reveal his plans for 2028. He said: “I am very supportive of the Trump Administration at this time, and I will do everything I can in order to make them successful.”

He said he would focus on finishing strong his term before discussing his political career in 2026.

Youngkin replied, “I won’t finish before we are finished.” “I will run through the tape and then take my wife on a vacation.” We’ll make the final decisions in February or March.

Youngkin, who won the governorship of the blue state in 2021, has been heralded as a rising star within the GOP. He is also being considered as a potential candidate to succeed President Donald Trump when he completes his term.
